Week 7: Kitten? Cute or scary?

Kitten? Are they cute? Are they playful? Do they have big bubbly eyes? That are the points that i jot down to describe a kitten during tutorial class. As Mr. Radzi gave the activity, he wanted us to write the characteristic of kitten and draw any part of kitten such as the eye, the paws, etc and turn the chosen part to make it scary. For this activity, i have chose the eye of a kitten and below are the drawing. The eye of a kitten. Do this eyes make you scare?

Week 7: Juxtaposition? Part 2

Hey! i'm back with more Juxtaposition topic. This time, Mr Radzi had told us to choose two different species of animals and merge them to create another animal which doesn't exist in real life. For this activity, i have choose a wolf and a pig. Below is the drawing that i draw. Please be execuse for the drawing.
This is a Wolf Pig. What do you think about it? In my point of view, the merge between the wolf and pig is disaster. Some of juxtaposition image can be meaningful and some of it can be a disaster. Why Wolf Pig? Basically, two of this animals are land animals and habitat is different where wolf is carnivor and pig is herbivor. Besides, wolf can live in cold temperature but pigs can't. So, my idea of merging this two living animals to see whether they can lives longer, and if we think logically, they can't stay longer. And that's my reason of why this two merging is a disaster.

Week 6: Poem?

Poem? Why we need to do poem? hahaha. Actually, It's a another activity where we are to use the images(object) and a word(subject) provided in the slide and create a poem out of it. So, in the first slide, he provide an image of chili(object) and related it with love[subject]
here's is my poem goes..

Loves to you is like a chili,
Everytime we meet, you make me think that you are the hottest person on earth
Everytime you call, we think about our spicy time together,
And the time that you told me I LOVE YOU, you really "burn" my heart away.

In the second slide, it about car[object] and life[subject] and this is how my poem goes:

Running a life is like starting the engine of a car,
The speed of a car is like a lifespan of a human exist,
When the headlight shine throughout us, it shows the future,
And when headlight dims, the darkest will take over the precious life
of a human.

And for the last poem, which we are allow to choose and a wallet filled with credit card as the object related either love or life and i choose Love as the subject.

so, this how my poem written:

Visa, Master Card, American Express,
Those are the name that remember always,
Everytime when we are facing problem on purchasing,
They always being ready in our wallet to be swap.

That about my very own creative poem and please to comment if my beloved friend visit it.

Till then.

below are the images which i drew during the class.
after this activity, Mr Radzi told us to use the same words, BUT this time, the images that we are executing must be abstract[which is indirect]. so here's the images that i drew:

It was fun to execute our creative mind by doing this activity. so, comment or anything else, just click on the Comment box and throw out your thoughts!

Juxtaposition? Part 1

What is juxtaposition? Honestly, I haven’t heard of the word until I had a lesson about juxtaposition in the class. According to Oxford dictionary, juxtaposition means giving different idea or civilization tradition. As from the dictionary also, juxtaposition comes from a word, juxtapose, which means place people or thing sides by sides. As for me, juxtaposition means like getting two different objects , combining to one and bring the meaning based on the object. Here is picture of showing an example of juxtaposition.

As you can see on the picture, it is showing life and death in my point of view. Why did I say that? In the picture, they are red water splash on the solid water where the die can also entered in a person life. So, that’s what juxtaposition happened in the picture. In conclusion, juxtaposition is important in people life where we have to face two sides together to give a meaningful meaning out of it. Till then, I will send the tutorial based on the topic.

Week 4: Evil Me?

It was a fun tutorial classes after the lecture class. Mr. Halim told all of the class to do a mind map of our "evil side" So, this is my mind map of the evil me. Any comment, please do so.

Week 4: Peta Minda or Mind Map?

Peta minda or mind map? Hmm, basically, they are the same. Peta minda is mind map in Malaysia language. Talking about mind map, I had experience on doing it. I bet most of my class mate had the experience on doing it because during our foundation studies in MMU, there is design subject, Design Fundamental, we are trained to do mind map and I actually like it. It is because it really helps us especially designers for executing ideas on designing for a project for a client. Besides that, doing mind map given a large space to “scribble” anything from thoughts, drawing in a piece of paper. It is all thanks to the creator of mind map, Tony Buzon. According to him, the idea of mind map inspired by Alfred Korzybski's general semantics as popularized in most science fiction novel [source from Wikipedia.com]. Look at his one of mind map based on Tony Buzon’s theory .“Mind maps were developed in the late 60s by Tony Buzan as a way of helping students make notes that used only key words and images. They are much quicker to make, and because of their visual quality much easier to remember and review. The non-linear nature of mind maps makes it easy to link and cross-reference different elements of the map” [source from http://www.peterrussell.com/MindMaps/mindmap.php] I’m 100 percent agrees with the facts written on Peter Russell’s site. It is true that mind map helps us to remember or make short notes with keyword and related images. Based on my experience during Design Fundamental, Che Mad[who introduces mind map for Design Fundamental] advise us to be balance on doing the mind map or else it is going to be a boring mind map where nowadays human beings hated to read text and irritating colors. As I recalled, Mr. Halim had taught us that mind maps has two type which is, logical and non logical [non-linear]. From the article above, making non logical mind map makes easy link and cross-reference than logical mind map. Yes, that is true because during the class where Mr. Halim presented a logical mind map-map and it is linked align to the grid where it has no free space to scribble around and it tend to make me feel bored and confuse.Overall, doing mind mapping is a good start for us to remember facts and it is easily to do yet fun with playing with different color to avoid making us bored and loose interests on it. So, thanks again to Tony Buzon who invented creative mind map.

Week 3: Being to do something unusual?

Yes, that is called novelty. On week 3, Mr. Radzi had taught us about novelty, creativity, innovation and inventation. But what is exactly is novelty? Because of my high curiosity, I did research on novelty. Well, it happen everytime in our daily life but we just don’t realize it. I have seen a lot of that, and some of them are funny, out of control and inlogical. But to me, novelty is something unique which lead to creative ideas in a form of art, building, video and even song. For past years, I just realized that, I was influence with novelty but it is seems very “invisible” because we just don’t know the right word to describe it. Let me give an example of and novelty singer, Weird Al Yankovic. I started to listen to his song during my school year when one of my friends play one of his hits song, Barney on fire. The song is about making fun of the popular tame purple dinosaur with all the humor lyrics. Weird Al Yankovic or his real name is Alfred Matthew Yankovic started to air his parodies since 1979 and his single was sold more than 12 million copies. [Source: Wikipedia.com]. His hits single besides Barney on Fire are White and Nerdy, Fat, Eat It and eBay. Here is the link to his video music, Eat It.

Novelty also can describe to building where the architects design a usual building and at the same time, it also works as landmark of a place. New York-New York Hotel and Casino, Lucy the Elephant, Tail-o-the Pup hot dog stall are the few examples for novelty architecture around the world. Those buildings comes different and creative taste of designs where Lucy the Elephant, located at New Jersey, the shape of the building is an elephant and the Tail-o-the Pup hot stall picked up the shape of a hot dog. The main reason besides the uniqueness of the architecture is to attract public attention. Here are some of images of novelty architecture.

Week 3: Google, what's that?

As in tutorial class, Mr. Razdi has assign us to create an avatar based on two leading man in the world and i am surprise to see the picture that he post on his blog. He want us to draw avatar based on the appearance of the richest man in the world and owe Microsoft Corp. and the founder of Google. And I choose The founder of Google Inc. Here's the avatar that I draw to portrayed Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

What is all about?

Well, it is a front view of a telescope where it portrays of 4 elements of Google. First element is video camera to directly represent of Youtube, which Google bought over them in 2006. On the second element is the No.1. As i know, Google is the no. 1 search engine in world and you can search anything form your name to anything your want. Just name it. The third element is
magnifying glass and the earth. It is showing that the founder make Google to be top search engine in the world. And the last element on the picture is the community where some of it shaded. The main reason is to shows the creativity of the community that Larry Page and Sergey Brin had shared to the world.

Week3: I'm a Brush Pencil

Fuh! What a day today. i have fun on the class today. During our tutorial classes, Mr. Razdi told the class to create a avatar based on your friend characteristic. So, Ang Bin Yee has drawn me and here is the drawing that she has describe me.

The question that she asked is with her. Soon, I'll post together with my homework. Have a nice day!

Creativity. What's that?

Creativity… Creativity… this C’s word have been in my mind since the day I started schooling even a person like me loves art and graphic designs didn’t realize that we are applying those C’s word in our work. I’m been hearing those words everyday since I entered FCM from the lecturer especially. I’m asking the same question to myself everytime, what does creativity means? Well, I did researches from the Internet and ask couple from my friends of its definition and I got pretty clear answer of its definition. Let me start from the researches that I done, www.answers.com/creativity, creativity brings the power or ability to invent. In www.wikipedia.com, creativity is a mental and social process or in other words, the generation of new ideas or concepts. For all these websites, my point of view of creativity is bring out fresh and genuine ideas or concept and at the same time in the creative way.

I always admire the Japanese funny and crazy invention. I once come across in the internet, where one of the lingerie company in Japan invented a “Shopping bag Bra”. The story beside this invention is for against of using plastic bags. Below is the image of the bra.

Other invention from the Japanese is Origami, which is one of my personal favourite hobby. As we know, origami is just a square paper with different sizes to forms variables types of shapes from animals, flower and etc and one of the popular origami is the crane. Normally, we, human being use papers to write, print, do sketches and others stuffs and in the end, most of paper will be throw in the dustbin. In fact, origami basically invented to avoid us from wasting paper and make something out of it. Below are sample of origami done by origami maker.

The first image is the popular crane and the second image is the tulip.

Overall, most of us are born with creativity idea but we just don’t realize how creative we are. So, are you creative? XD
