Yes, that is called novelty. On week 3, Mr. Radzi had taught us about novelty, creativity, innovation and inventation. But what is exactly is novelty? Because of my high curiosity, I did research on novelty. Well, it happen everytime in our daily life but we just don’t realize it. I have seen a lot of that, and some of them are funny, out of control and inlogical. But to me, novelty is something unique which lead to creative ideas in a form of art, building, video and even song. For past years, I just realized that, I was influence with novelty but it is seems very “invisible” because we just don’t know the right word to describe it. Let me give an example of and novelty singer, Weird Al Yankovic. I started to listen to his song during my school year when one of my friends play one of his hits song, Barney on fire. The song is about making fun of the popular tame purple dinosaur with all the humor lyrics. Weird Al Yankovic or his real name is Alfred Matthew Yankovic started to air his parodies since 1979 and his single was sold more than 12 million copies. [Source: Wikipedia.com]. His hits single besides Barney on Fire are White and Nerdy, Fat, Eat It and eBay. Here is the link to his video music, Eat It.

Novelty also can describe to building where the architects design a usual building and at the same time, it also works as landmark of a place. New York-New York Hotel and Casino, Lucy the Elephant, Tail-o-the Pup hot dog stall are the few examples for novelty architecture around the world. Those buildings comes different and creative taste of designs where Lucy the Elephant, located at New Jersey, the shape of the building is an elephant and the Tail-o-the Pup hot stall picked up the shape of a hot dog. The main reason besides the uniqueness of the architecture is to attract public attention. Here are some of images of novelty architecture.
